What’s posted, and what isn’t. Yet.

Dear Feastlings,

As quiet as it’s been, you’d think I’d have everything in place. Gone are the snowbirds, gone are the students, gone are the faculty, gone are the people who come to work the season. Only the diehards remain to tough it out for the summer, and if I were a proper restaurateur, I’d have all our menus posted by now. The Father’s Day menu should be up, and the one for Las Hogueras de San Juan. They will be, but first things first.

Today being the first Tuesday of June, the June menu begins today, and I did manage to get that menu posted, though I only realized around noon that I hadn’t updated it, so apologies for that. The menu is up and running, though,

and I reckon if squash blossoms don’t lure you in, roasted strawberry shortcake might. I’m crossing my fingers. I’ve also managed to post not only this Saturday’s wine tasting,

Mainly Spain

a smattering of reds and whites from the north, south and middle of Spain, as well as a special tasting that the AWS has graciously opened up to all comers, a tasting on Wednesday, June 10th, with food pairings alongside a passel of Oregon wines, at 5:30 pm.

An evening wine tasting- Oregon producers

Happy hour returns to Feast this Thursday, once we’ve had a chance to get in all our ingredients and prepare them, so you’ll be able to get little snacks on top of your wine discount,

and lunch specials will begin next week. And as to wine discounts, our retail discounts will last all the way up to Labor Day:

What I saved on my summer vacation

And another item as well- I’ll be up bright and early on Tuesday the 9th, a week from today, with gift certificates in hand, at Arizona Public Media. Physically, I’ll be at the Baker Center for Public Media, but I’ll be out on the airwaves all over the greater Tucson area and much of Southern Arizona. I’ll even be elsewhere if you tune in at azpm.org. In any case, anyone who chooses to donate, or, frankly, even call in, during the time I’m there, from 7:00 am to 9:00 am, will be entered into a drawing to wine one of those gift certificates to Feast.

There’ll be more- I’m still working on menus for the events I’ve mentioned and others. I promise more information soon, but in the meantime, I think there’s plenty here for you to sink your teeth into, or wet your whistle with. See you soon.

Love,

Doug
