Dear Feastlings,
I know summer won’t technically begin for nearly a month, but we at Feast see the seasons perforce through the lens of a restaurant, and that means summer began in earnest when the last guests left on Mother’s Day. The good news for you is that with the advent of Memorial Day, we’ve kicked off the summertime wine deals.

If you’re a wine drinker, you’ll save at Feast this summer by buying in quantity. Any six bottles, none of which need to be them same wine, will earn you a ten percent discount, and any twelve will get you fifteen percent off your purchase. What’s more, any bottle you drink at the table will cost you fifteen dollars less if you decide to take home with you a bottle of the same. So as the stressors continue, be they political, economic, meteorologic or otherwise, if one of your coping mechanisms, like mine, is food and drink, rest a little easier knowing that the drink part of the equation is getting more affordable as everything else becomes less so. There’ll be food values as well, as lunch options become a better value and snacks begin to appear alongside wines by the glass come June.
This Saturday will be the last Saturday in May, so this week’s wine tasting will be buoyed up by paired food pairings and heavier pours, so the moment to restock your cellar for the summer months is upon us.

As usual, there’s more in the works- we went to GAP ministries with another two hundred meals last Saturday, thanks in great parts to your donations, and in part our own, and we’ll continue to do that as long as we can, since food insecurity is at a high again, and you know how we feel about food.
The June menu begins next Tuesday, and you’ll see some familiar summertime treats alongside some brand new dishes, and the American Wine Society will open up its wine tasting to the general public once they’ve RSVP’ed this Saturday, and I’ll post that menu once they’ve let us know how many more spaces we can offer you.
In the meantime, we’d love to see you at Saturday’s tasting if you’re so inclined, and so would Mike.
