No news is good news.

Dear Feastlings,

Ever since I turned 30, a few decades ago, no news has almost invariably been good news. There’ve been moments, for sure, but as one slows one’s pace, there’s less interest in novelty in favor of stability. Frankly, I’d be happy to see novelty fall by the wayside in nearly every respect, as novelty now to me means anything from slang and expressions I don’t understand to eventual threats against the continuity of the human race by artificial intelligence, or abuse of the legal system for political gain. I’m delighted to have no news.

In keeping with my new favorite, lack of news, I have little to report this week. Sure, we have a wine tasting this Saturday- in fact, a quite delicious one led by people I quite like, with a tip of the hat to someone who couldn’t have been a better choice to help us convert our sad little patio to a small but mighty wine shop-

but really, September in Tucson offers very little in terms of novelty. Sonoran Restaurant Week is behind us now, and nothing substantial will happen in Tucson for a month or so, but we do offer a couple more reasons to dine out- first, the deal you got during Sonoran Restaurant week remains for lunchtime: a couple of entree choices with a glass of wine or a dessert for a cool twenty-five bucks.

There’s also a wine tasting, as per usual, this Saturday at 2:00 pm, rife with approachable Southern French wines that will hep you make it to summer’s finish line.

And if your patriotism has been stirred by the far right or left, in two weeks’ time, there’ll be an all-American special menu, with deals on American wines, on the 29th and 30th, so you can save yourself a few bucks by opting to dine out midweek.

There’ll be more eventually, for for now, content yourself with the fact that what news you’ve gotten has been good news, or at least not bad news, and we’ll see you soon.

Love,

Your friends at Feast
