Dear Feastlings,
I know it’s not like me to be positive, but for some reason (I say this cautiously,) things seem to be going well. While June and July were perhaps our worst June and July in years, August came through for us in the clutch.
September is never a bell-ringer- it’s usually our slowest month, when people read their summer vacation credit card statements or realize what they’ve shelled out in back-to-school expenses and immediately think the better of dining out. But we’re starting off September with some new dishes,

and there’s some new art on the walls,
and it’s nearly time for Sonoran Restaurant Week, a great time to avail yourself of 124 restaurants’ worth of value-priced meals (in order to participate, we all have to discount the meals by a minimum of 20%.)

Then, come Saturday, we’ll be pouring wines from either side of the equator for you to taste them alongside one another.
If those aren’t reason enough to go out, we’ve been looking for a way to have one more special event this slow season, and we just had a private event cancel, which frees us up to give our own country equal time in late September- just as we offered a special menu for Las Hogueras de San Juan, Bastille Day and Ferragosto, on September 29th and 30th, we’ll be offering regional American fare and discounts on all domestic wines. We’ll celebrate the American wine harvest from Lake America all the way to the Gulf of America, or whatever your preferred nomenclature is. From the East American Ocean to the West American Ocean.
Regardless, it’s a great way to have a comforting meal and a bottle of wine at retail rather than restaurant pricing.
My last pitch to you for leaving the house, beside the fact that the high is down in the double digits this week, is that you still have until Labor Day to avail yourselves of our summer wine deals, which means this week is it for you.
