Taking sides

Hello, Feastlings,

Our buddy Emily joins us this week with two red wines and two white ones- the twist?  One of each comes from our own hemisphere, here up north, and the other hails from Antipodean climes.  There’s a lot more to it than which way the water goes down the drain, though, and you’ll taste the difference between them, as well as all the other features that affect the wines- altitude, soil, winemaking, weather.  They all mesh together to create a wine with a sense of place, and this week, you’ll be tasting wines with distinct Southern and Northern hemisphere markers.

If you want to participate, a reservation is the best way to kick it off- call us at (520) 326-9363 and let us know you’re coming, and then show up on Saturday, September 5th, with Emily and Chris and shoot the breeze about the difference in breezes between the Mistral, say, and the Roaring Forties, for example.  It’s $20 plus tax and tip, there are discounts on the wines, and we’d love to see you.
