Dear Feastlings,
I’m hopeful, as I was the last few times that it clearly and suddenly wasn’t, that this pandemic is reaching its denouement. One of my many barometers is the number of people that order food delivered to our outlying hubs, and I must say, as much as sales have been disappointing for yesterday and today, it might just mean that we’re that much closer to opening our doors again. That said, there’s still tomorrow, and there’s still the repercussions of St. Patrick’s Day and Spring Break to experience. So we’ll see. In the meantime, if you happen to live to the south or southeast, there’s still the rest of the day today to order a little something.
And if you live closer to Feast, there’s still a few hours left to order and pick up samples of Barbera, of which we’ll be tasting four today. Whereas last week was a study in barrel influence, this week will most assuredly be a study in terroir. Here are the notes about the tasting,
and here’s how to log in at 2:00 when we begin:

You can also still order for Passover,
Easter,
or both. I’d also point out here that hot on the heels of Easter is the event we’re doing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Child & Family Resources, which they’ve graciously named Feast for Families:
And yes, there will be other events in the interim, like a donation run to Sister Jose Women’s Center
and a couple of wine tastings. I’ll also mention to those of you who support Arizona Public Media that I’ll be on the air, extolling its virtues and urging your support, this Monday morning, March 22, from 7:30 to 9:00 am, and if you choose to call in during my shift, you’ll be entered into a drawing for one of two Feast gift certificates. So there’s that as well. But I look forward to seeing no small number of you on the screen this afternoon, sipping Barbera and speaking Italian, and casting a hopeful eye toward brighter days.
il vostro buon’amico,
Doug
