Dear Feastlings,
Today’s wine tasting is a few hours away, and whether you’re joining us here at Feast or logging in from home, it promises to be a good one: four wines, each a varietal traditionally used as a blending grape, on its own.
And while a lot of grapes are known better for their solo careers than their part in a group, these are more apt, if you recognize them at all, to be familiar only as backup singers. If you’d like to join us, there’s still ample time to pick up samples, and you can log in here:
Doug Levy is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

You’re also welcome and encouraged to join us for tomorrow’s tasting as well, one with food pairings, and a tasty exploration of Santa Barbara County.
Come next week, there’ll be a new menu. That begins Tuesday, which happens to be Mardi Gras, which means there’ll be copious amounts of crawfish etouffee flowing from the kitchen here, so a reservation is recommended, though we’ve made enough that you can take some home if you’d rather. I’ll also be posting the menu for the Mary Taylor dinner- importer Mary Taylor join us in person on March 15 for a four-course exploration of small-producer wines paired with food that, unlike that of tomorrow’s tasting, you won’t have to heat up yourself, nor will you have to do the dishes. Reservations must be made by calling- a web reservation with a note attached will NOT guarantee you a seat, so give us a buzz at 326-9363 and we’ll save you a spot to visit with Mary and taste some really fun wines.
Friday, I’ll be heading back out to bring food to those we didn’t catch on our last donation run at Banner’s South Campus and its Crisis Response Center, and we’re nearly at the point at which this run can be funded, but you’re welcome to contribute to this or a future donation run if you’d like, by calling at the number above so sending a check to Feast with the words “Meal Donations” in the memo line. the address is 3719 E. Speedway, Tucson, AZ 85716.
You’ll get another note tomorrow telling you how to log into that tasting, plus a preview of the Mary Taylor menu, and likely some griping or idle banter from me, but in the meanwhile, I’ve got a little more studying up to do on today’s wines. See you soon,
Doug
