We found some wines we love.

Hello, Feastlings.

Each fall, from some time in September until well into November, the industry tastings happen.  We taste hundreds of wines as they’re released to the Arizona market, and before you tell us how wonderful and fun it must be, and how you’d like to come along, think of an event in your own industry that’s chockablock with people with whom you have to make small talk, bottlenecked with people who are only gumming up the works and extending the time you spend from the two hours you’d hoped for to twice that, with finding parking, waiting in line, and alternately being ignored and being given the full-court-press hard sell as you batter your palate with acids and tannins.  There are, between the wines you feel obligated to taste because of your relationship with the importer or the producer and the wines your rep insists you try, those few bottles that give you pause, and you immediately remember what you love about this part of your job.

This week’s wine tasting, another end-of-the-month tasting complete with food pairings and replete with deliciousness, features four of those wines.  Chris and Doug have spent the past two months tasting through a sampling of portfolio after portfolio, and this week, we’ll taste some of the wines we fell in love with.  As per our usual Last Saturday format, we’ll be pairing food with each wine, and pouring heftier samples, and with any luck, you’ll find some holiday-suitable wines- maybe for gifts, maybe for your own table- and we’d love to see you there.  The tasting begins at 2:00 this Saturday, October 31, and costs $55 plus tax and tip.

Give us a jingle at (520) 326-9363 and let us know you’d like to join us, and we’ll hold a seat for you.
