Francy Pants

Dear Feastlings,

We’ve been tasting holiday-friendly wines at a furious pace, and as we started choosing some of our favorites, we noticed a pattern emerge: That Champagne? Well, France, obviously.  The Marsannay? Ditto.  Margaux?  Same.  Châteauneuf-du-Pape? Again.  France, France, France.  They’ve offered us a lot- excellent food, all the beaux arts, literature, a significant chunk of our language, that helping hand in the Revolutionary War, and this week, along with all other weeks, I suppose, wine.  Our pal Mike Galkin brings us four wines again this Saturday, and, it being the last Saturday of the month, we’ll be whipping up some food pairings to accompany them.  Pours will be generous, food will be served alongside, and you’ll hear curious American approximations of French names that will charm you or be like nails on a chalkboard, but the wines will most decidedly win your heart.

It all begins this Saturday, November 25th, at 2:00 pm.  Whether you’ve got guests in town for Thanksgiving and seek an interesting weekend activity, or you find yourself looking to treat yourself after feeding a small army, whether you’re looking for a bottle that makes a great holiday gift or a charming addition to your own table, our selection of French treats covers four different regions and varying styles, but they have something in common regardless: these are really good wines.  If you’d like to join us, call up and save a seat at (520) 326-9363, then show up Saturday, with or without your out-of-town guests, and with $40 plus tax and tip for each attendee, you’ll taste some wines that will knock your chaussettes off, eat some accompanying snacks, and have the good time you’ve come to expect of our wine tastings.
