Dear Feastlings,
You might know who the Haas family is, and it’s even more likely you know who the Perrin family is. While the Haases haven’t exactly stamped their name on their business (the importer we know as Vineyard Brands,) the Perrin family’s name is on every label of both their reputable and celebrated Beaucastel wines, as well as on their negoçiant labels as well. But the two families together, after years of the Haases importing the Perrin family’s wines and putting them into serious bottle shops all over the United States, set up shop together in Paso Robles, and in 1994 planted cuttings that has been quarantined since arriving in the US from the Beaucastel Estate in 1990.
This Saturday, you’ll learn a little bit about the Southern Rhône, about Paso Robles, about the Rhône Rangers and about red and white varietals from the Rhône and what Paso Robles has to impart to these tasty wines. The tasting starts on Saturday the 30th at 2:00 pm, and, it being the last Saturday of the month, we’re serving heftier pours, fancier wines, and food pairings alongside them. To join us, it’s $35 plus tax and tip, and we’re inclined to believe you’ll walk away from the tasting with an appreciation of both the Haas family and the Perrin family. Give us a call at (520) 326-9363, save yourself a seat, a glass and a plate, and show up on Saturday to talk with with us and our pal Jennifer Brown about this special and especially interesting winery. It promises to be a good one.
