What comfort we can get, where we can get it.

Dear Feastlings,

Whatever happens anymore, I just want more comfort. I want food and wine that make me feel like it’s all going to be okay. The way to my heart is unquestionably through my stomach, and I think the more stressful things get, the more I think a mouthful of gnudi or a rich, custardy canele will give me temporary respite from the literal and figurative Super El NiƱo that’s about to thrash the Northern Hemisphere into bits of mince.

It’s new menu day today, at least as I write this, though I have no idea how long it will take for this email to reach your inbox, and it’s rife with comfort: smoked onion broth, gnudi, caneles and orange-hazelnut aioli each grace a different dish on this month’s menu, and each one soothes me just thinking about it. I propose a soothing moment for you as well, with the menu that I thought I’d posted two days ago, but truly only posted just now, the October menu:

And as people begin to filter back to town to whatever road construction they live nearest to, we continue to offer a reason to brave the construction and leave the house. A wine tasting, maybe,

Heavy hitters for light pockets

or a fancy dinner with a winemaker.

The Eyrie Vineyards- dinner with Amy McCandlish Esper

Or just a new menu with a few new dishes and a visit to your old friends at Feast. Why wouldn’t you come visit?

Love,

The people with the open and comforting arms at Feast
