Dear Feastlings,
When David Lett planted the first Pinot Noir in the Willamette Valley, he did it against the advise of nearly everyone. Professors of oenology, farmers, viticulturists- everyone insisted that the reason no one had yet planted Pinot Noir in Willamette Valley, at least commercially, was because it wasn’t commercially viable. Wine nerds know sixty-one years later what’s become of the Willamette Valley, and we’ll be lucky enough to taste the wines that Jason Lett, David’s son who grew up in the vineyard, has made with the fruit his father planted on his honeymoon in 1965.
On Tuesday, October 20th, Amy McCandlish Esper, having done a significant stint as Eyrie’s assistant winemaker in the past, and now running around the country to introduce us all to these exceptional wines, will make a pit stop in Tucson, and at Feast specifically, to grace us with her wines and her presence.
We’ve cobbled together five petit courses to accompany the wines, and it promises to be a very special evening. If you’d like to join us, you can call us at (520) 326-9363 to make your reservation, and if you’re not sure whether you’d like to join us, perhaps it would help to show you the menu:
