Modestly full up

Dear Feastlings,

I said it yesterday, and I’ll say it again today: it’s beautiful out there. If it’s not your thing, I understand, but I wholeheartedly recommend a couple of hours on a bicycle in it before things heat up much more.

Under normal circumstances, I’d be suggesting you all join us for today’s wine tasting, but between the majesty of the day and the fact that our eleventh-hour reshuffling of this month’s tasting, along with our being less able to throw together last-minute extras given our staffing issues, we’re simply full up today. There’ll be fewer of us than usual; still, we’ll be a small but mighty group, enjoying a little wine and food and banter, and we’ll cross our fingers for a more normal tasting next month, one that’s built around wine that’s already here, presenters we’ve got slated weeks in advance, and perhaps even one hundred percent in person. I’ll take a survey at today’s Zoom tasting. Anyhow, for those of you who’ve missed it but have a little curiosity, here’s the tasting,

We’ve learned over the years what styles you each favor; now you get to peek inside our heads and get an idea what wines make our own hearts go pitter-pat.

More soon, of course, about Mother’s Day, and the May menu, and a few other things we have planned as well, but for today, enjoy whatever your equivalent of my bike ride is. I’m hoping that for some of you, it’s grabbing a bite and sip here at Feast. See you soon.

Doug
