Simple’s often best.

Dear Feastlings,

Cathartic as it may be for me to spill the woes of restaurant life or small business ownership, or even just membership in the club of awkward nerds that is humanity, there are days when we’re numb to it- maybe because we’re shutting it out, with intention or not, or maybe because we’ve gotten used to the new daily fusillade of staff members calling in sick, or possibly it’s just a nice day out and we’ve had a peaceful bike ride where we weren’t cut off in traffic, and our coffee was just toasty enough, and not bitter, and we decided not to be bitter either.

Whatever the case, the Gem Show is winding down, we’ll have a few more intense days through Valentine’s Day, and then everything will be back to New Normal, at which point I’ll stuff your mailbox again with fears or joys or addled news between phone calls, texts and emails. Today, though, here’s what I’ve got for you: the wine tasting starts in a couple of hours, and we’d be happy to have you join us, in person or on the Zoom screen, and we’ll taste some good news from a year what had nearly none in it, wines of the 2020 vintage.
