While it technically isn’t summer just yet, the Feast Summer menus have begun.
For the uninitiated, we sent an email out last month asking which of your favorite dishes you’d like to see on the menu again, and each week through Labor Day, we’ll be making a few of those dishes you’ve missed. This week happens to coincide with the beginning of the June menu as well, so there’s lots form which to choose.
Of course, a few so the dishes requested for summer were requested by so many of you that we’re just putting them back on the regular menu so more of you have a chance to get a taste: the squash blossoms and the roasted strawberry shortcake, for example, have a large and vocal following, so you’ll see both on the menu for a while.
Plus there are some new dishes- the chermoula-rubbed half a game hen smells really good right now, and I’m personally excited about the linguine with soft-shell crabs.
What’s more if you scroll to the bottom of the menu, you’ll see this week’s menu requests: the black and bleu sandwich, the South Carolina-style baby back ribs, and pastel de tres leches, plus some other fun stuff.
I’m also writing to remind you all of this Saturday’s wine tasting, another of Kevin’s tastings of delicious wine accompanied by dreadful puns. That will happen this Saturday at 2 pm. Please do join us, but please do make a reservation.
Then from here on out, you’ll be getting emails on Thursdays when each new request menu begins, for the next thirteen weeks.
Oh, and one last thing: most of you know by now that I’m a fan of Arizona Public Media, so much so that I pester people to donate to AZPM a few times a year. This Thursday will be one of those times, and while I know that your money is yours to do with what you will, people who donate while I’m doing my part on NPR and KUAT his Thursday will be entered in a drawing to win one of two gift certificates to Feast. The hardest part is getting up early and calling in between 7:00 and 8:00 am.
See you soon,
Doug and everyone else at Feast
