Hello, Feastlings,
There’s a saying in the industry that wine is made in the vineyard. But there are scores of influences that make the vineyard what it is- weather, for certain, and soil; which direction the slope faces and how steep a slope it is; elevation and the assortment of pressures that come with farming grapes- birds and insects, pruning, latitude, and many more. This week, we’ll talk about the ocean, past and present, which is to say, there are sea breezes that bring salt air, seashells that make up the soil, the cooling effects of its proximity to the vineyard, and more.
You have yet to meet our friend Devin, or at least to meet him here at Feast, as this is his first tasting with us, but he (and we) are excited he’ll be here with four wines, each influenced in one way or another by the Seven Seas. He’ll be here at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 14th, and if you’d like to meet him and taste through his wines with us, all you need to do is give us a jingle at (520) 404-4426. Then show up on Saturday with $20 plus tax and tip. We’ll provide the glass and the wine, and a menu in case you’re feeling peckish. We look forward to seeing you here.
