Californoregon

Dear Feastlings,

I’m the first to admit a bias on our wine list- we have an Old World-heavy wine list to accompany what I’d regard as a New World menu.  And our tastings, by and large, are chockablock with Old World selections.  With a few new factors in play, we thought it high time we re-investigated wines from our home continent, wines less affected by tariffs (mind you, barrels and bottles and corks still don’t come cheaply) and now that our new sommeliere (no it’s not a typo, she’s a woman) is starting to familiarize herself with our list, we thought it only appropriate that someone who’s made California her home and worked in the industry there for more than a decade might be honored by a nod to the domestic chunk of our list.

It’s with all of those particulars in mind that our friend Mike joins us this week for our End of Month tasting this Saturday, October 25th, with both Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, from both California and Oregon.  You’ll still taste a broad diversity- these wines unabashedly declare in the glass from whence they come, and you’ll be able, though not required, to taste the differences blindfolded.  What’s more, we’ll pair each taste with food, and we’ll pour heavier than a regular Saturday tasting.  Therefore, like the other Last Saturday tastings, it’ll cost $50 plus tax and tip, but you’d pay that much if you were drinking these wines by the half glass, and now you’ll get the food pairings thrown in alongside, plus discounts on the wines.

Dial us up at (520) 326-9363 and we’ll happily save you a seat, a glass and a plate.  Want to know what we’ll be tasting?  Take a peek below:
