Dear Feastlings,
Not that the subject comes up all that often, but if you’re shooting the breeze with a fellow American wine drinker and you’re talking Portugal, you’re likely to be talking Port. Tawny, Ruby, Late Bottled Vintage- Port seems to be the only wine that we as a culture are universally familiar with. And it’s a shame. Wine production began in Portugal in the 5th century BC, and if you think the only thing they’ve been making in the past two and a half millenia is fortified sweet wine, this week’s tasting will disabuse you of that notion. On Saturday, August 23rd, our friend Megan joins us to show you the dry and savory side of Portuguese wines, curious blends that are perfect for your late summertime consumption.
Our Iberian exploration begins at 2:00 pm, and you can save yourself a seat at the table by calling us at (520) 326-9363. The tasting costs its usual $18 plus tax and tip, the wines are delicious, Megan is knowledgeable, and you’re a fun bunch with whom to taste. We’ll see you there.
