Covering your bases

Dear Feastlings,

We’ll see what happens on Wednesday when tariffs are announced, but for now, we’re covering our bases.  This Saturday, our friend Mike brings us four domestic (i.e., tariff-free) wines that each give a nod to the Old World.  They’re lower in alcohol, see little or no new oak, and drink as if a European winemaker found him- or herself in the lower 48, left to make wine from New World fruit.  Now, it may happen that there’s no tariff on European wines, or it may happen that there’s a 200% tariff, but these four domestic treats are a sound means of tiding oneself over until whatever we call this period has subsided.

For now, the tasting will cost the customary $18 plus tax and tip, and will happen this Saturday, April 5, and you need only pick up the phone to make your reservation: call us at (520) 326-9363 and we’ll happily pour your tastes come Saturday.
