Dear Feastlings,
St. Luke’s Home has been housing and caring for elders on a fixed income in Tucson for 100 years-plus now, and we thought it would be a sweet gesture to treat them to lunch. Our next donation run will be on Friday, September 10th, and we’ll be feeding everyone at St. Luke’s Home, residents and staff alike, to remind them that they’re appreciated members of this community, and that all of them deserve some recognition.
By now, you’re well aware that Feast has been shoring itself up from the shortfalls that Covid has brought us by asking Tucsonans (or anyone else, really) to join us in donating meals to deserving members of the community. For every four meals donated, Feast will donate a fifth- we’re not in this to make a profit so much as to give our crew enough hours to make a living during this time of limited dine-in service due to safety protocols, to remind people we’re out here and contributing to making Tucson a great place to live, and to share with people who have less opportunity to eat a nice meal once in a while.
We’ll be taking donations all week, and any overage will go to our next donation run, which we hope will be Youth on Their Own, though we’re waiting for the go-ahead from them since school’s only just started up and they’re not seeing the maximum number of students yet. Whatever you’d like to contribute to, please know that it will be appreciated by the recipients of the meals, but also by the crew here at Feast, who, eighteen months later, are still not working a normal schedule. Donations can be made by mail or in person with a check made out to Feast and the phrase, “meal donations” written in the memo line, or you’re welcome to call with a credit card number, which anyone who answers the phone here can take.
Our phone number is 326-9363, and our address is 3719 E. Speedway, Tucson, AZ 85716.
Thank you!
The people of Feast
