Ferragosto menu

Hello, Feastlings.

There’s nothing like a holiday that doesn’t get celebrated here to give us an excuse to create a special day at Feast.  On August 15th, the Feast of the Assumption is celebrated in Italy in pretty much every nook and cranny of the country, and Italians celebrate by vacationing in droves.  Those of you who are unable to get away mid-August may want to have a little celebration with us by at least having some serious Italian food for dinner, and getting a deal on Italian wine- on the 15th, there’ll be no corkage on Italian wines, be they from the mainland, Sicily or Sardinia, so any 750 ml bottle you see on the list will be available for $12 less than it normally costs.  What will you eat with your Italian wines?  Why, Italian food, of course.  Here’s the menu for the 15th, and it will be available for takeout during the day as well as dine-in from 4 to 8 pm.

There’s a caveat, though- we’ll take pre-orders for carryout that day, which we’ll need by Thursday the 12th to make sure we can get in enough ingredients to feed everyone.  So the deadline to pre-order is Thursday the 12th at 8 pm.

Here’s what the menu looks like:

Squash Blossoms ~ Three squash blossoms stuffed with house-made ricotta cheese, battered, fried and served with garlic honey and basil oil. Garnished with toasted hazelnuts.
10

Risotto alla lepre~ Appetizer of risotto with braised rabbit, Prosciutto and wild mushrooms. ◊
14

Linguine alla Carbonara~ Linguine pasta tossed with pancetta, Parmesan cheese and a farm egg.
18

Branzino ripieno~ Mediterreanean seabass, served whole, stuffed with spinach, grilled lemon, rosemary and summer squashes.  Served with grilled polenta. ◊
27

Agnello al miele con le fave~ braised lamb shank, glazed with herbed honey and served over fava bean purée. Served with fried potatoes and sautéed broccolini. ◊
32

Tiramisú~ classic dessert of coffee-soaked lady finger cookies with mascarpone and shaved chocolate.

No corkage for any Italian wine on the list.
