Trust Your Importer tasting with Josefa Concannon of Louis/Dressner Selections

Hello, Feastlings.

As the last Sunday of the month draws nearer, we’re readying ourselves for another great tasting, complete with food pairings.  This month is another in our series of tastings designed to help you build trust with some of our importers so that when you find yourself faced with an unfamiliar label, you’ll be more willing to take the plunge and try a wine because you know what sorts of wines a particular importer brings into the states.  Louis/Dressner has long been a favorite among the staff here, and their portfolio is home to rockstar winemakers as well as those committed to making table wines with a sense of place.  You’ll taste the whole spectrum this Sunday, along with foods meant to go with each wine, and you’ll meet Josefa Concannon of Louis/Dressner as well (many of you have already met her when we did a wine dinner with her the year before last.) She’ll regale us all with stories of the wines and critics’ darlings Ariana Occhipinti and Elisabetta Foradori, and we’ll learn all about this Grillo that could kick Macon out of my refrigerator any day, and a Rosé that’s got Thanksgiving written all over it.  The tasting is $35 plus tax and tip, features sample pours that are twice the size of our Saturday tastings’ pours, and food pairings to boot.  The tasting begins on Sunday, October 25, at 3:30 pm and will offer you a chance at these limited-availability wines, at a discount to boot.  Give us a buzz at 326-9363 to reserve your samples and food pairings.

To order, call us at 326-9363.  Because we’re preparing food based on the number of guests who order this tasting, orders must be placed by Friday the 23rd at 7:30 pm to be guaranteed, and cancellations made after that time will incur a food preparation fee.  Treat it like a ticket; if you can’t attend, give it away or sell it.

The zoom tasting number is 828 0704 0808 and the passcode is 645398.

You can find the tasting order and pricing sheet here.

Instructions for pairing food and wine and readying your four courses is here.
