This Saturday’s EARLY wine tasting: Rhone varietals from the Old World and the New

Hello, Feastlings.

We have a private event this Saturday, April 22nd, so in order to give everyone adequate time to enjoy themselves, we’ve changed this week’s wine tasting from its customary 2:00 start time to 1:00.  Apart from that, though, you’ll be pleased to know that all other aspects of the tasting remain the same as any other Saturday: It’s $10 plus tax and tip, the wines will be available afterwards at a discount, and you’ll still want to make a reservation the old-fashioned way (by calling us at 326-9363, as web and email reservations won’t save you a seat.) This week’s theme: Rhône varietals from the Rhône proper and from the New World as well.  Please do come visit, and know that if you like the Old World stuff, there’ll be another tasting on the 30th of all Rhône wines- you know, from the actual Rhône Valley.  And there’ll be food pairings as well.  More about that later.  Meanwhile, here’s what we’ll be tasting at 1:00 rather than 2:00 this Saturday:

Old World/New World vis á vis the Rhône

2015 Ferraton Côtes du Rhône Blanc

2014 Sans Liege “Côtes du Coast” White, Santa Maria

2012 Famille Brechet “Plateau des Chenes” Lirac

2012 Zaca Mesa “Z Cuvée” Red, Santa Ynez
