Trust your importer: Giuliana Imports

Hello, Feastlings.

The wine biz may have a leg up on the restaurant biz- wine has a longer shelf-life than produce, dairy, seafood and the like- but it’s no treat, and it’s not nearly so glamorous as going around sipping wine all day.  It’s dealing with tariffs and trucking, with supply chain issues and personalities.  It’s making people happy be they buying or selling, or both.  Our friends at Giuliana have been bringing in wines from all over the world for some time now, but always with an emphasis on the Italian stuff.  This week, our buddy Rob drops in with four Italian treats- two from Piedmont and two from Sicily- and we’ll be cooking up food pairings to accompany them.

The menu is mostly written, but as the importing and distributing businesses go, we’re still waiting on one of the wines to arrive, so while we’re happy to show you which wines you’ll be tasting, and most of the food pairings that will accompany them, we have yet to write the food pairing for the wine that, God willing, arrives tomorrow.  It’s the end-of-the-month tasting, so the wines are a little fancier, the pours are a little more generous, there’ll be snacks paired with each wine, and it will be priced accordingly, at $55 plus tax and tip.  Will it be worth it?  Darn tootin’ it will.  The wines alone would cost that that much just for the three-ounce pours you’ll get, so throw in the snacks, the service and the education and you’re indisputably winning.

Want to join us?  Call us at (520) 326-9363 and make your reservation, then show up on Saturday the 28th at 2:00 with your tasting shoes laced up.
