Dear Feastlings,
We all go back to the same well often enough, and with reason: there’s water there. In wine tastings, there are regions that dominate- Up and down California, the Willamette Valley and Walla Walla in the New World, and Burgundy and Bordeaux, Piedmont and Tuscany, Rioja and Ribera del Duero in the Old. We thought that this week, we’d poke around in some of the less trafficked wine spots in the Old World, so a couple of them will be really old- Greece, for example, and Lebanon- and a couple will be more familiar, but still rather less so than the Usual Suspects- a blend from Douro, Portugal, and a Swiss grape hanging out in the Loire.
Our pal Mike will be here talking wine talk, we’ll be tasting Agiorgitiko and Cinsault and Chasselas, and all in all, an excellent time will be had. If you’d like to join us, put $18 plus tax and tip in your pocket, call to reserve a seat at (520) 326-9363, and meet us here with Mike on Saturday the 20th at 2:00 pm to lift a glass full of interesting stuff. We’d be happy to have you join us.
