The Great Indoors

Dear Feastlings,

On occasion, we have a wine tasting or a wine dinner scheduled privately, sometimes by a wine group, sometimes as a fund-raiser.  Summer in Tucson being what it is, though, people are often out of town when a tasting rolls around, and that’s the case next Wednesday, June 11th, when our friend Mary Grace Rodarte joins us to talk summertime wines.  There’ll be a pink, a white and two light reds that have summertime written all over them, so if you’re not one of the lucky ones who’s in a place where you can sit outdoors comfortably in the afternoon, at least you’ll be one of the lucky ones who’s found some really delicious summer wines that you can enjoy here in Tucson in the Great Indoors.

The tasting is much like our end-of-the-month tastings- a heftier pour of the four wines and an amuse bouche built around each wine, and since the American Wine Society already made the arrangements, the dozen or so of you who can still join us can do so for $50 inclusive of tax and tip.

What’s more, if you fall in love with any of the wines, they’ll be discounted by 10% on a bottle or more, 15% on a case.

The menu looks like this:

Crispy grapefruit-crusted shrimp with peach cream and tarragon.
2024 Hartford Court Rosé of Pinot Noir, Russian River Valley

Hamachi crudo with cucumber and Meyer lemon relish and dry Vermouth.
2022 Willakenzie Estate Chardonnay, Willamette Valley

Mushroom toast with caramelized onions and cedar-infused veal reduction.
2021 Aubaine “Anahata Vineyard” Pinot Noir, Eola-Amity Hills

Seared duck breast with bell pepper-orange peel rice pilaf and black tea butter sauce.
2022 Brewer-Clifton Pinot Noir, Santa Rita Hills

and pricing can be found here.
