And another thing.

Dear Feastlings,

So rattled was I on Tuesday that I forgot to mention a couple of philanthropic items, so here’s an extra email to remind you of two things:

Thing number one: On Wednesday, August 12, the Primavera Foundation resumes the series of fundraising dinners it’s put together for nearly 25 years. They suspended it a couple of years ago, and the response was substantial enough that they’re reinstituting it. The first dinner takes place here at Feast, and four “apprentice chefs” will join our team to make a meal whose proceeds help to fund the good works of the Primavera Foundation, offering homelessness prevention, shelter, food, hygiene, employment and transitional programs to people experiencing homelessness. The apprentices have already signed up, but if you’d like to come to the dinner we prepare, or participate at one of the other restaurants as an apprentice or a diner, here’s the link:

Primavera Cooks!

Thing number two: I always feel a bit out of my comfort zone asking this, but we’re still delivering donated meals to GAP ministries

https://gapmin.com/

and are hoping to go back to including the Primavera Men’s Shelter

Our Story

and the Sister Jose Women’s Center.

Who We Are

We had a lot of donations on a regular basis for a while, but I’ve mentioned less often that we’re doing this, and people have forgotten about it, or left town for the summer, and so on. We continue to do it, donating a meal for every three meals donated by the community, but I’ve had three people ask in the past three weeks whether we’re still doing it, and the answer is yes. Yes, we’re still doing it. And once we’ve gotten through the Primavera Cooks dinner, we’ll be out with another run of meals donated by you and us together.

Thanks, everyone.

Love,

Doug
