Dear Feastlings,
It does seem as though lately my emails are squeezed out at the last possible moment, but this week, I’m taking a second during the quietude that the Final Four brings to dash off a note, amply in time for the new menu- after all, tomorrow (that is, the day after you get this note,) will be the first Tuesday of the month, and the April menu will begin, seven days into April.

I’m also writing earlier than usual because Tuesday morning will find me at my occasional post, interrupting your radio listening time on the NPR pledge drive. I like to let you all know that I sweeten the deal of donating by offering up a couple of gift certificates to Feast, so if you call during my two-hour stint, on Tuesday the 7th from 7 to 9 am, you’ll be entered into a drawing to win one of them.
I also want to remind you that there are a few other things going on in the near future:
On Saturday, April 11th, our pal Mike will be here with four wines from Alto Adige producer Adler- there’s a small technical glitch keeping us from posting it, but you can find it on the site later tomorrow, or Wednesday at the latest.
On Tuesday, April 14th, we’ll be serving up a wine dinner because Giovanni Triscornia will be in town- Giovanni represents the wines of Ethica Imports, and we’ll be pouring five of those wines alongside paired dishes, and as of now, we still have room for another dozen of you or so. The menu, if you’re on the fence about it, is here:
The following day, April 15th, we, along with seventeen other restaurants in town, will be donating 20% of our sales to SACASA as part of their Dine Out for Safety event, so if a five-course wine dinner on Tuesday isn’t for you, maybe a snack or a drink or a meal on Wednesday is, and your purchase will help someone.
And as for helping someone, I’d like to thank those of you who’ve continued to contribute to our donation runs out to GAP ministries. Thank you for helping us to help GAP to help people who’ve lost their SNAP benefits and have trouble putting food on the table without the help of their community- for every three meals the community donates, we’ve donated a fourth, and we’re a couple of weeks away from our first thousand meals donated since we restarted our food donation program. We expect to be bringing them food again late this week if all goes well, or early next week if logistics require a change of plan. Logistics, we’ve discovered, frequently require a change of plan.
I hesitate even to write this for fear of jinxing it yet again, but it would appear that the stars have finally aligned to bring us our long-awaited refrigerator coil, and it should be moving into its new home as this message arrives in your inbox. Wish us luck.
Your friend,
Doug
