Hello, Feastlings.

While there’s nothing wrong with tomatoes, I wouldn’t try making a bouillabaisse with nothing but tomatoes.  It’s the interplay of saffron and fennel and fish broth with the tomato that makes the dish special.  A tomato is delicious, but when it’s one note of many, it’s that combination of sweetness, acidity, saltiness and umami that elevates the tomato to new heights.  This week, as much as we love any given varietal, we’re tasting blends- all reds, in light of the exciting dip in temperature we’re taken- from four distinctly different wine regions.  It takes place here at Feast on Saturday, October 13, at 2:00 pm.  The tasting is, as ever, a mere ten dollars plus tax and tip, and it’s beginning to fill up, so if you’d like to come, you’ll want to call us sooner than later.  The number is 326-9363 and you may recall that web and email reservation don’t hold you a spot, so phone is the ideal solution.  We hope you can make it.
